Mixedinblack offers an array of original music by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from the raps of Jimblah, 5114, Karnage, T. D. B and TASK to the soulful tunes of The MERRg, Warren Milera, Sonya Rankine, Asta Wanganeen, and Glenn Skuthorpe. Mixedinblack has something for everyone. The emerging talent of mixedinblack theatre artists/actors brings great energy, commitment and humour to theatrical productions. The group is now called Karrikarrinya Theatre Collective.

The MERRg are described as pop/rock, roots, acoustic, reggae, alternative and country. They prefer to remain versatile rather than confined to one particular groove. The MERRg has performed at events around the country including The Dreaming festival at Woodforde June 2007.
Sonny Keeler is a guitarist and songwriter from Ceduna. He has performed throughout SA since 1996; these shows include Fringe Festivals and Survival in Sydney. Sonny is now performing locally with his band. His debut album was released in 2003, and he is currently working on material for his next album.
TASK is a dynamic MC who took out the ‘Best New Talent’ award at the 2006 NT Indigenous Music Awards. He has performed at `Bass in the Dust 05’, The Official `White Out’ party at the Rox nightclub and the `Out of The Darkness’ album release launch (his own debut album).
Glenn Skuthorpe’s musical journey transcends the country/folk/roots crossroads, creating a unique sound reminiscent of Springsteen and Steve Earle. With soulful lyricism and a street hardened eye, Glenn is a vital and compelling storyteller with poetic lyrics full of love and loss, murder, betrayal and renewal.
Karnage is a hip-hop artist who produces his own beats and has performed at Festivals and community events around Adelaide and the Northern Territory. As quoted from Karnage: “Music made the life I’m living”.
Warren Milera released his debut album "New Light on the Horizon" in 2002. With 2500 - 3000 copies sold so far, it has been hailed a success. Warren has won a number of music awards at both state and national levels.
Felix Kerry is a multi talented performance artist. He is a singer and actor and is currently a co-artistic director of Karrikarrinya Theatre Collective. Felix Graduated from WAPA in 2000 in Performing Arts Drama.
Micah Wenitong is a music producer he is a descendant of the Kabi Kabi people from South East Queensland. He has written, performed and produced a number of songs since childhood. Micah currently works with musicians in remote areas and is a co-founder, along with Garry Goldsmith, of Tune Into Your Health Statewide Music and Education Program, Nunkuwarrin Yunti of SA Inc.
Matty Johnson has been involved in the arts for years. He was a child actor appearing in a film and on stage. Matthew has recorded a number of songs and has performed as a solo act at local events.
Asta Wanganeen, is a singer/songwriter. She has performed at Festival Centre, Fad Bar, Botanic Gardens, Flinders University, and Adelaide University. The bittersweet flavour of Asta’s music reflects on the struggle for Aboriginal Australians.
5114 is Dylan Sumner aka Big Dilza MC/Beat maker and Ben Sumner aka Binky MC/Beat maker. They have performed at local clubs and community events since 2005. Inspired by greats such as The Cure, Nivana, NWA and Ice T, 5114 has developed its own unique fusion of hip-hop. Their sound has been described as rough, raw n’ street gritty. However, there is much to say about their style, it is also combines humour and heart.
Sonya Rankine is a local singer/songwriter with a mixed musical influence that comes through her original work. A Narungga/Ngarrindjeri woman who writes from the heart and reflects on experience. Sonya has performed at various showcase events in Adelaide, notably at the Fuse Festival 2007.
Stinga T and Big Sexy are Adelaide based rap duo Tha Deadly Boyz (T.D.B). Their music is an eclectic fusion of street, dance, a little R&B and hardcore rap. T.D.B has performed in many shows around Adelaide. Gigs have included fundraisers; launch parties, community events and festivals - including the Fringe and Comeout. T.D.B has completed their debut album, which is now available.
Jada Jay is a singer/songwriter & actor. She graduated in performing arts at AC Arts in Adelaide. Jada currently works professionally in local and interstate theatre productions and enjoys singing and song writing.
Jimblah, winner of the Hilltop Hoods Initiative 2007. After extending his production skills over 18 months, Jimblah is now working to complete his debut album. Since winning the highly competitive award in October 2007 he has performed at a number of gigs including Proper in Sydney.
